Ishares Barclays 10 20 Year Treasury Bd

Ishares Barclays 10 20 Year Treasury Bd is an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks the 10- to 20-year portion of the U.S. Treasury yield curve. It seeks to provide a low-cost and diversified way to gain exposure to longer-term government bonds.

The fund generally invests at least 80% of its assets in the securities of its underlying index, the Barclays U.S. 10-20 Year Treasury Bond Index, which includes public obligations of the U.S. Treasury with maturities between 10 and 20 years. The fund's 30-day SEC yield, as of Feb 3, 2023, is 4.09% ED 31, 2023, is 4.01%.

Trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the iShares Barclays 10-20 Year Treasury Bond ETF (Ticker: IEF) has an expense ratio of 0.15% and net assets of $8.69 billion, as of March 4, 2023. As the 10-20 Year sector has a shorter duration than longer-term Treasury bonds, the IEF is generally less volatile than funds that invest in longer-term government bonds, such as the 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (Ticker: TLH), with an expense ratio of 0.15%.

For interest rate exposure, market participants who anticipate declining short-term rates but rising long-term rates could hedge their fixed-income portfolios with the IEF. For long-term investors, the IEF could support a diversified, long-only Treasury bond strategy, as it holds securities with maturities approaching 20 years.
